Climate Urgency: Dubai Welcomes Prime Minister and Global Leaders for COP28 Talks on Environmental Action
Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar joined global leaders on Friday at the high-level segment of the 28th Conference of the Parties (COP 28) of the United Nations, engaging in discussions on climate change action. Upon arrival at Dubai Expo City, the prime minister was warmly received by President of the United Arab Emirates Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres.
In addition to attending the opening session of the World Climate Action Summit, PM Kakar is slated to hold meetings with the prime ministers of the Netherlands and Estonia on the conference sidelines. Furthermore, he will partake in the Zayed Sustainability Award ceremony. Caretaker ministers, including Foreign Minister Jalil Abbas Jilani, Finance Minister Dr. Shamshad Akhtar, Climate Change Minister Ahmed Irfan Aslam, and Energy Minister Muhammad Ali, are actively participating in COP28.
