Imad Wasim Bids Farewell to International Cricket, Ending Eight-Year Stint
All-rounder Imad Wasim, a pillar of strength for Pakistan’s cricket team, has formally declared the conclusion of his international cricket journey, bringing an end to a distinguished career that spanned eight extraordinary years. Imad, aged 34, debuted on the international stage in May 2015 against Zimbabwe, leaving an indelible mark with 55 ODIs and 66 T20Is played for Pakistan. His legacy is embellished with an impressive record of 109 wickets taken and 1,472 runs scored, showcasing his significant contributions throughout his impactful international tenure.
A vital player in the Pakistan squad, Imad Wasim played pivotal roles in major tournaments, notably being a part of the triumphant 2017 Champions Trophy-winning team. He also represented Pakistan in the 2016 T20 World Cup, the 2019 Cricket World Cup, and the 2021 T20 World Cup, showcasing his versatility and dedication to the team’s success. In expressing his gratitude, Imad thanked the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) for their unwavering support, acknowledging the honor of representing his country in 121 appearances across the ODI and T20I formats.
