The Inter Boards Coordination Commission (IBCC) and Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) have formalized their partnership with a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to elevate cricket at the school and college levels. In the wake of the MoU, IBCC hosted a consultation workshop to strategize the promotion of domestic cricket among students.
Representatives from various educational boards gathered to discuss and tackle key issues including physical fitness, financial constraints, and facility access for young athletes. The result is the launch of an inter-school and inter-college cricket tournament scheduled to commence in October 2024.

Winners from this tournament will advance to inter-provincial and national competitions, with the opportunity to represent Pakistan on the international stage. The collaboration promises enhanced athletic training, physical fitness sessions, and access to high-quality cricket grounds. PCB will provide technical support while educational boards will assist in identifying emerging talent.
Dr. Ghulam Ali Mallah, Executive Director of IBCC, remarked, “This partnership marks a significant advancement in nurturing our youth. We look forward to the positive impact this will have on our players both on and off the field.” Abdullah Niazi, Director of PCB, added, “We are dedicated to discovering and developing future cricket stars. This initiative lays the foundation for a stronger cricketing future for Pakistan.”
With the tournament set to begin this October, all are encouraged to support these promising young cricketers as they strive for excellence and potential international representation.
