Prince Rahim Aga Khan Unveils HBL MfB’s Regional Headquarters in Gilgit-Baltistan

Prince Rahim Aga Khan, Chair of the Executive Committee of the Aga Khan Fund for Economic Development (AKFED), Inaugurates HBL MfB’s New Regional Headquarters in Gilgit Baltistan

On Sunday, Prince Rahim Aga Khan, accompanied by HBL Chairman Sultan Ali Allana and President Muhammad Nassir Salim, inaugurated the new Regional Headquarters of HBL Microfinance Bank (HBL MfB) for Gilgit Baltistan. Also present were HBL MfB Chairman Rayomond Kotwal and President Amir Khan, as stated in a press release.

During the ceremony, Prince Rahim Aga Khan expressed, “The inauguration of HBL Microfinance Bank’s Regional Headquarters Gilgit-Baltistan is a remarkable milestone for both the Aga Khan Development Network (AKDN) and the Bank.”

“This significant step aligns with AKDN’s commitment to achieving Net-Zero by 2030. As we journey towards a more sustainable future, this building symbolizes ongoing progress, sustainability, and prosperity for the people of Gilgit-Baltistan.”

Echoing similar sentiments, HBL MfB Chairman Rayomond Kotwal stated, “The inauguration of our regional headquarters for Gilgit Baltistan underscores our dedication to sustainable development and community welfare.”

It is noteworthy that the HBL MfB’s GB Regional Office building has earned both the LEED Gold certification and EDGE Advanced certification, making it one of the pioneering structures in the country to achieve this feat. The press release elaborated, “The LEED Gold certification from the US Green Building Council underscores the building’s exceptional performance in energy and water efficiency, sustainable site development, and indoor environmental quality.”
