Experts at ‘Tourism Exhibition’ Hail Tajikistan as Premier Travel Destination
Islamabad: At the inaugural ‘Dushanbe International Tourism Exhibition’ (DITE), speakers praised Tajikistan as the top tourism destination in Central Asia, including in comparison to regional countries such as Pakistan. Pakistani businessmen and industrialists actively participated in the event, setting up various stalls and engaging in numerous industrial and commercial activities.
The exhibition featured a range of businesses from Pakistan, representing sectors like handicrafts, tourism, and hospitality. Several business deals and agreements were also signed between Pakistani participants and representatives of the Tajikistan Chamber of Commerce, further strengthening trade and tourism ties between the two nations.
At the ‘Dushanbe International Tourism Exhibition’ (DITE), Deputy Minister of Economic Development and Trade of Tajikistan, Ahliddin Nuriddinzoda, and Chairman of the Committee of Tourism Development of Tajikistan, Kamoliddin Muminzod, addressed the audience.
Deputy Minister Nuriddinzoda highlighted the innovations being introduced in Tajikistan’s tourism sector, driven by the vision of President Imam Ali Rehman. He emphasized that tourism plays a fundamental role in the country’s economy and is a vital part of the nation’s livelihood. He also pointed out that Tajikistan offers a wide array of opportunities in cultural, health, and adventure tourism.

Chairman Muminzod echoed these sentiments, stating that Tajikistan’s diverse natural beauty, including mountains, glaciers, rivers, and lakes, provides ideal conditions for various types of tourism. He added that the government is focused on modernizing the country’s tourism infrastructure to accommodate and attract more visitors.
At the 1st Dushanbe International Tourism Exhibition (DITE-2024), Chairman of the Committee of Tourism Development, Kamoliddin Muminzod, emphasized that Dushanbe serves as the gateway to tourism in Tajikistan. He praised Dushanbe Mayor Rustam Emomali’s leadership in advancing the “Tourism 2030” vision, which aims to transform Tajikistan into a global tourism hub.
highlighted the country’s breathtaking landscape, making it an attractive destination for all types of tourism. He noted that Tajikistan welcomed over one million tourists last year, a testament to its growing appeal. Tourism, he added, is a key contributor to Tajikistan’s economy, with expectations for the sector to play an even larger role in the future.
DITE-2024, held from September 25 to 27 at the Dushanbe Expo Center, coincided with World Tourism Day. The event was initiated by Rustam Emomali, Chairman of the Majlisi Milli of the Majlisi Oli of the Republic of Tajikistan and Mayor of Dushanbe.

With participation from representatives of over 16 countries, 20 foreign companies, and more than 90 domestic companies, DITE-2024 underscored its international significance. The exhibition served as a platform to strengthen cooperation between Tajikistan’s tourism industry and its global partners, promoting the country’s potential in cultural, wellness, and nature-based tourism.
The organizers of DITE-2024 expressed their heartfelt gratitude to all participants for their active involvement and collaboration, with special recognition given to the contributions of “Somon Travel,” “King Tour,” and “Diyor Travel” for playing pivotal roles in the event’s success.
The exhibition also included an International Tourism Forum and B2B meetings, where participants had the opportunity to sign new cooperation agreements, further enhancing ties within the tourism sector. Attendees explored some of Dushanbe’s key tourist attractions, including a visit to the “Istiklol Complex,” and participated in a cultural and entertainment program celebrating World Tourism Day.
DITE-2024 is a significant milestone for the development of Tajikistan’s tourism sector. It has created new opportunities to attract foreign tourists and investments while strengthening international tourism connections, positioning Tajikistan as an emerging global tourism destination.
